Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls

Are you looking for ways to encourage the young females in your life to dream big?

As a woman with daughters of my own—and now two granddaughters—it’s important to me that they follow their passions. I want them to believe that they can do anything they set their hearts on. Women can be extraordinary mothers, sisters, wives, and friends. They can also become scientists, painters, engineers, athletes, teachers, musicians, doctors, and lawyers.

How can we help little girls believe that?

My daughter, Ana, discovered a book worth sharing with you.

Here’s the blurb, which explains the contents:

Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls is a children’s book packed with 100 bedtime stories about the life of 100 extraordinary women from the past and the present, illustrated by 60 female artists from all over the world. Each woman’s story is written in the style of a fairy tale. Each story has a full page, full color portrait that captures the spirit of the portrayed hero.”

Some of the females included are: Malaya Yousafzai, Amelia Earhart, Simone Biles, Cleopatra, Elizabeth I, and Frida Kahlo.

You can find Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls on Amazon and other online stores.

What are some other tools we can use to encourage girls to follow their dreams?

    1. Hi, Margo! Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate you leaving a comment.

I haven't read every story, but those I did read, I thought were well done. I looked back at the reviews, and I didn't feel they were that mixed - Out of 408 review,s 84% gave a 5 star rating. I did read one review by a mom that said although she recommended the book (4 stars), she wanted to caution parents that that there was one biography on a young child who chose to undergo gender transformation. I can understand why that might be a concern for some parents. But overall, I love the fact that the stories include women/girls from the past and the present - and they encourage girls to see their potential.
